Ron Charpentier, MBA, brings 25 years of health care and professional experience to his role as senior vice president of Advisory Board Consulting. In this role, Ron focuses on multi-year, transformational partnerships with large health systems and academic medical centers. These transformational partnerships incorporate a variety of solutions, including strategy, medical group management, network development, IT optimization, revenue cycle, margin improvement, technology solutions, and payment transformation, as well as population health, clinical integration, and care variation services.
Previously, Ron served as consultant for FFL Partners in San Francisco, where he developed the business thesis for a targeted $250 million equity investment in a physician practice and population health management company. In this role, he designed an innovative affiliation structure and development plan, while also identifying acquisition targets.
Prior to this work, Ron was a founder and executive vice president of operations of BreatheAmerica Inc., in Nashville, Tenn. In this role, he directed the operations of outpatient allergy and airway disease centers. During his tenure, he helped the company grow from a startup to a multistate, care management company. Following eight years in the role, he acted as interim CEO, during which time he led the company’s infusion division and airway disease centers.
Ron was also a consultant for Pivot Health in Nashville prior to its acquisition by Advisory Board. Among his key engagements were his roles as interim CEO for a large multispecialty group in Pennsylvania and as the architect and facilitator for the merger of two independent radiology groups in Sacramento, Calif. Prior to this, Ron also served as COO for Diagnostic Imaging, a national outpatient imaging company in Minneapolis, Chief Administrative Officer of Harbin Clinic, the flagship multi-specialty clinic for PhyCor, and vice president of development for both PhyCor and Rebound in Nashville.
Ron holds a Master of Business Administration in finance and marketing from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in behavioral science from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, Calif.
