Laurie Norman, MSN, APRN serves as a Vice President for Advisory Board Consulting, specializing in value-based care and physician alignment strategies. Laurie brings more than 20 years of hands-on clinical experience, including extensive quality of care and financial performance management expertise, as well as experience orienting, mentoring, training, and educating medical staff. Laurie has worked with members across the country, assisting in the development of quality and initiative programs for clinical integration (CI), hospital efficiency improvement programs (HEIP), service line strategies, co-management arrangements, and other care variation reduction strategies.
Prior to joining Advisory Board, Laurie served as Clinical Nurse Specialist and Orthopedic Service Line Director at East Jefferson General Hospital (EJGH), where she provided effective management over the orthopedic service line and led the development of physician alignment strategies including co-management and CI programs. She also served as an Acute Care Program Specialist at EJGH, initiating, implementing, and evaluating the processes of the acute and post-acute care programs, total joint program, and spine program. Prior to this, she served as Clinical Educator at EJGH where she had a lead role working with physicians for the transition to electronic health records.
Laurie is a Board Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist and sits on the National Research and Evidence Based Practice Council for the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses. Laurie earned a Master of Science in nursing from the University of South Alabama, and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Loyola University.
