Renee Monahan
Renee works for Optum Advisory and is an expert advisor to Advisory Board. She currently serves as a senior director within Optum Advisory’s Financial and Operations Practice. In her role, Renee oversees both the Revenue Integrity and EMR/Automation Terrains. Renee has more than 25 years of experience and expertise in healthcare revenue cycle and reimbursement. She is particularly skilled at helping her client base achieve success in revenue cycle KPI and benchmarking, revenue integrity strategy, and denials management.

Prior to joining Optum’s consulting division, Renee was a vice president of Revenue Cycle at another large national revenue cycle healthcare consulting firm, and in this position held several interim Revenue Cycle Leadership positions at complex health systems in Ohio and Michigan. She has also held revenue cycle vice president roles at several large health systems in western Pennsylvania. Renee has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA from Saint Francis University and holds HFMA credentials of FHFMA, CHFP, and CRCR.
