About Jim

Jim has spent most of his career working at the intersection of business, IT and strategy. He currently leads the Health Care IT Research Suite for Advisory Board. His areas of research include business and IT strategic planning and implementation, digital health systems, and business intelligence and analytics strategies. He is a frequent speaker on strategic health care and health care IT-related topics.

Prior to joining Advisory Board, Jim was executive director of IBM’s Center for Health Care Management, which focused on global thought leadership for health care. Prior to joining IBM through an acquisition, Jim was a senior leader at Healthlink and Gartner. He has executive experience in a multiple industries, including health care integrated delivery systems.

Jim holds a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude in mathematics from Texas Tech University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix, where he received the outstanding student award.
