Matt serves as a Managing Director over Planning 20/20, The Advisory Board Company’s comprehensive research and market analytics membership for strategic planning. Over the past two years, Matt has led the charge on building and launching this new membership, and has worked with hundreds of members to migrate to this new strategic planning platform.
Since joining the firm in 2005, Matt has spent the bulk of his tenure managing the Service Line Strategy Advisor program within our Research and Insight division. In this capacity, he has managed a team of 30+ professionals dedicated to leading research in the strategic planning terrain and conducting custom market strategy projects for strategic planning teams across the country. Matt has also led research on a range of topics, including service line strategy—with specific expertise in the fields of oncology and general surgery—as well as market growth, ambulatory, and health system strategy. He has presented nationally on a range of topics within these terrains, and has led hundreds of strategic engagements aimed to guide hospital decision makers through their most challenging investment decisions.
Prior to his work in research, Matt worked in strategy consulting within the medical technology industry, focusing primarily on product strategy for medical device manufacturers. He graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University.
