Sean Angert, MBA, serves as a National Partner of Advisory Board to lead the development of comprehensive clinical and operational improvement efforts for member organizations. He brings 30 years of health care and professional experience to his role, serving provider segments of all types including academic medical centers (“AMCs”), integrated delivery networks (“IDNs”) and community hospital systems. He has an extensive knowledge of the health care market including the changes and challenges of improving financial and clinical performance. His areas of expertise include care variation, workforce management, physician practice management, revenue cycle oversight, supply chain and health care informatics.
Prior to joining Advisory Board, Sean served as Managing Director and Client Service Executive for Huron Consulting Group, Inc. in Chicago, where he worked with health system senior management to lead transformational improvement projects across all aspects of expense, revenue, clinical, and physician practice management. He has worked with several academic and community IDNs to implement improvement efforts of $50M+ over the past several years.
Prior to his work with Huron, Sean served as Vice President, Supply Chain Performance Improvement and Principal, Consulting Services Business Development for Premier, Inc., in Charlotte, N.C., where he led a new supply chain initiative and oversaw development of new consulting services and benchmarking tools in orthopedics, cardiology, capital equipment, and other areas. Previously, Sean was Region Vice President and Practice Leader for Concepts in Healthcare/BD Healthcare Consulting in Boston, where he was responsible for the management of large consulting projects with AMC and IDN clients, and for opening the firm’s Charlotte, North Carolina office.
Sean holds a Master of Business Administration from the Belk College of Business at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, as well as a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Healthcare Financial Management Association.
