Methodology

To be eligible for the list, organizations are required to physically operate in the United States and have at least 25 full- or part-time permanent employees. Publicly and privately held businesses, as well as for-profit and nonprofit entities that have been in business for at least one year, are eligible for consideration.

Organizations may apply as healthcare providers, insurers, or suppliers. At least 50% of an organization's revenue must come from the direct provision of healthcare or healthcare-related services and supplies.

Experts from the Workforce Research Group scored each organization using a two-part assessment. Twenty percent of the score came from an employer assessment while 80% came from employee feedback surveys. Organizations with the top 76 scores in each category (provider/insurer and vendor/supplier) were included on the list.
