The System Approach to Service Line Management

An effective service line management structure is a necessary condition of success for any health system—but in practice, few systems satisfy that condition.

This publication includes an overview of more effective and cohesive approaches, analysis of eight organizing principles common among top-performing institutions, interviews with service line experts, and detailed case study profiles.
