- New York: Capsule, a digital pharmacy that delivers medications to patients, on Friday reported a data breach to HHS' Office for Civil Rights. According to the company, the breach, which affected more than 27,000 people, was likely a result of "password spraying"—a term for an attack that uses login information from other companies' data breaches to attempt to access user's accounts. Under federal law, the agency secretary is required to disclose any breach of unsecured protected health information affecting 500 or more people. Following the breach, an unnamed third-party cybersecurity firm determined the breach was not a result of any vulnerability in the company's security infrastructure, according to a company spokesperson. According to RRH spokesperson Cristina Domingues, RGH is currently conducting a nationwide search for a new president. RRH has appointed EVP and chief service lines officer Amy Craib as its interim president. (Gooch, Becker's Hospital Review, 6/6)
