This growth is fueled in part by advances in artificial intelligence (AI), which has the potential to disrupt the health care industry as we know it. According to Advisory Board research, the market size for AI technologies is expected to grow from $600 million in 2014 to $6.6 billion in 2021—and 50% of hospitals are forecasted to use such technologies in the next five years.
