As a Principal and Executive Director, Steven leads the firm’s research on nursing, human resources, performance management, and other strategic issues. He has presented at multiple national forums and member executive meetings and authored well over 20 Advisory Board publications including: Unlocking Unit Excellence, Hardwiring for Service Excellence, CEO Dashboards, and Hardwiring Common Purpose.
Steven holds a JD from Harvard University and received his bachelor of arts in government from Dartmouth College. Prior to joining the Advisory Board, he served as a health care attorney with Kalkines, Arky, Zall, and Bernstein for hospitals and health systems in the greater New York City area. His legal practice included matters ranging from regulatory compliance to system building to strategic planning.
