Methodology

To create the list, TIME partnered with Statista to evaluate and rank the top-performing companies across three key dimensions:

• Employee satisfaction: This dimension was evaluated using survey data from approximately 217,000 employees at U.S. companies over the last three years. The data included company recommendations and employee evaluations in several areas, such as image, atmosphere, working conditions, and salary.
• Financial performance: This dimension was evaluated using data from Statista's revenue database, which includes company financial data for the last five years. To be considered for evaluation, companies had to meet certain criteria, including generating revenue of at least $100 million in 2025. Both short-term and long-term financial performance were evaluated.
• Sustainability transparency: This dimension was evaluated using environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data from Statista's ESG Database and targeted data research. Each area had its own evaluations, such as carbon emissions for environmental impact and share of women on the board of directors for social impact.

After the data was collected and evaluated, it was consolidated and weighted into a scoring model, with scores from all three dimensions added on an equal percentage basis. The final ranking score was based on a maximum of 100 points. Overall, the 1,000 companies with the highest scores were included on America's Best Companies of 2026.
