When it comes to end-of-life care, there is a real discrepancy between what patients say they want and what they receive. In partnership with The Economist, the Kaiser Family Foundation recently conducted a survey of Americans’ views on end-of-life medical care. The survey found most adults (71%) say that, given the choice, they would prefer to die at home. However, in reality, we know that only 31% of Medicare beneficiaries actually die in their homes.
