Introducing Advisory Board Company Talent Development Partnerships

We are proud to announce that the Advisory Board Academies are now the Talent Development partnerships.

We have long offered leadership programs to elevate the business and leadership skills of health care leaders, from nurse managers to physician leaders to emerging executives. The core of our insight remains the same. We hold to our conviction that it is the “human factor” that distinguishes success and failure for organizations, and our expanded portfolio enables us to provide support beyond straightforward skill-building to help support cultural transformations, to engage leaders in performance improvement, and to demonstrate tangible, measurable results from your investments in your people.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did the Advisory Board Academies change its name to Talent Development partnerships?

We have taught over 60,000 health care leaders from frontline staff to the c-suite, with both clinical and non-clinical backgrounds, in large and small groups. Just as we have we evolved and expanded the audiences we serve, we have dramatically expanded our capabilities beyond straightforward skill-building –to support the achievement of measurable outcomes through participant-led project work, to help executive teams strengthen leadership culture, and to shape health system strategy for physician collaboration. We needed a name to reflect our ability to impact not just leadership skills, but a wider set of talent objectives.

What happened to the Physician Leadership Academy, Nursing Leadership Academy, Performance Leadership Academy, and Center for Management Excellence programs?

If you work with us in one of these programs, you can continue to work with us as you always have. However, we now work with an increasing number of partners developing very specific audiences (eg, IT leaders and staff) and/or multidisciplinary audiences (eg, nurse managers and physicians) that don’t fit neatly into one of these traditional programs. To better serve every partner need, we have brought all of our skills-building offerings into a single Leader Development service line. By creating a universal offering, we can provide greater flexibility: we can develop any group of leaders at any level, drawing curriculum, insight, and content from across all our leadership programs.

To be clear, we continue to offer Leader Development workshops specifically for physicians and for nurse managers. However, we now offer an expanded curriculum library and flexibility to design a unique partnership tailored to best serve each organization’s needs.

What happened to the Center for Frontline Nursing Leadership program?

We have opened up the program to include frontline staff leaders from all disciplines and have made some enhancements to the content, structure, and project support resources. To reflect these changes, the program is now called Frontline Impact. If you have a cohort currently enrolled in Center for Frontline Nursing Leadership, the cohort will continue exactly as planned and any new cohorts will have the option to enroll in the new program format.  Current cohorts can still access the Center for Frontline Nursing Leadership.

What do I need to do? How will my current partnership be affected?

There is no action required of you, and there will be no disruption or change to your current partnership. We will continue to deliver the service and curriculum you are accustomed to receiving.

There will be significant improvements made to our online services.  In addition to improvements that affect the entire site, the Talent Development section includes new program pages and significant, ongoing enhancements to the resources available.
