
Matt is a Special Director and Faculty member with The Advisory Board Company’s Talent Development division. In this capacity he teaches workshops and presents research at leading hospitals and health care organizations in the United States and internationally. He provides guidance to executive teams on curriculum planning, accountability for learning application, and leadership strategy. Matt works with a diverse range of audiences – executive to frontline – to improve organizational performance through leadership development. He specializes in executive and physician development, Harvard case method, and other experiential teaching techniques.
With over a decade of experience at The Advisory Board Company, Matt has held several leadership positions, has contributed to more than 60 research studies on hospital business strategy, clinical and business operations, and talent development, and has worked with executive teams and boards from over 750 hospitals, health systems and other health care organizations.
In addition to his experience with the Advisory Board Company, Matt served as a senior consultant for Witt/Kieffer, a health care executive search firm, and more recently, co-founded and led a strategy-centered executive development practice for a health care strategy consulting firm. Matt began his career on Capitol Hill with the Government Relations Office of the Episcopal Church, USA where he was responsible for developing a nationwide grassroots lobbying network for the 2.5 million member denomination.
Matt holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Political Management from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
