Create custom cohorts based on organization characteristics to ensure like-to-like comparisons with similar organizations. The tool features over 40 metrics organized into three different categories. It shows how your organization compares to others in your cohort based on a decile distribution.
The tool also features a more granular comparison at the service line and MS-DRG level. Users can adjust the time frame to see performance over time.
This tool is designed for home health executives, finance leaders, planners, and analysts. These users can apply this tool to search for areas of improvement by comparing other facilities’ metrics to their selected facility.
The Home Health Performance Profiler compares benchmarks based on up-to-date Medicare data on an array of financial, operational, quality, and utilization metrics. Use the tool to compare your facility to local competitors or other system facilities. Alternatively, use filters for region, urban or rural, teaching status, bed size, and more to generate cohorts of similar facilities. These custom-designed cohorts will then reflect the data in the tool, which will provide granular data. Choose a time frame by selecting a year or the rolling 12-month filter in the dropdown menu.
Most metrics allow for comparison at the total volume, service line, subservice line, and MS-DRG level to enable detailed analyses.
The tool is updated quarterly with data from CMS’ Standard Analytical Files, CMS Cost Reports, and CMS Compare. Time frames will differ depending on metric and data source. For example, CMS Compare metrics are updated quarterly and typically display data from a time frame 2 to 3 quarters behind the present time. Data sourced from CMS Cost Reports are updated twice a year. Click the icon beside a metric to view the specific time frame details.
We have applied our proprietary service line grouping methodology and conducted analyses to generate the most relevant and important metrics, except for those metrics that are reported directly from CMS datasets. Click the icon beside a metric to view the specific details.
