Implications of tax overhaul for charitable giving

    The Republican-led Congress has passed comprehensive tax reform. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) is expected to reduce income taxes for all income groups in 2018, with the greatest reductions going to the highest-income groups, according to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center.

    For philanthropy teams, there's some good news: the tax deductibility of charitable donations is preserved.

    But there’s also bad news: TCJA’s specific policy changes may discourage giving.
