    About this Webinar

March 22-26, 2021 is National LGBTQ Health Awareness Week, a time to bring attention to the devastating cycle of discrimination and health disparities that affect LGBTQ people. Join representatives from The Human Rights Campaign Foundation and the Chief Nursing Executive at UCSF Health to learn more about how organizations can advance LGBTQ equity and inclusion in health care through participation in the Healthcare Equality Index (HEI). Available at no-cost to participants, the HEI is the national LGBTQ benchmarking tool that evaluates healthcare facilities' policies and practices related to the equity and inclusion of their LGBTQ patients, visitors and employees. In it's 13th year, The HEI 2020 evaluated more than 1,700 healthcare facilities nationwide. The Human Rights Campaign is the largest advocacy organization promoting LGBTQ equality in the United States.

    Things You’ll Learn:

    • Why every organization should be committed to providing culturally sensitive care for all LGBTQ patients
    • How organizations can participate in the HEI and what resources they have available to them
    • How to leverage the HEI in your journey toward LGBTQ inclusion in health care settings

Presenters: Karl Whitemarsh with Tari Hanneman, Director of the Health and Aging Program at the Human Rights Campaign Foundation and Pat Patton, Chief Nursing Executive at UCSF Health and Chief Nursing Officer at UCSF Medical Center Adult Services
