Extending Telemedicine to Medication Management

Small and rural health care provider organizations often face major challenges providing full-time pharmacist coverage for even the most basic services like medication order fulfillment.

Medication orders processed without real-time pharmacist review present substantial risks and increase the likelihood of errors and adverse drug events.

This report explores two major telepharmacy models and how several provider organizations have successfully incorporated these programs into their workflows.
