The Department of Veterans Affairs shows us three ways to scale telehealth

When the history of telehealth is written, the Veterans Health Administration will be judged as a leader, if not the leader, in implementing large-scale telehealth initiatives.

Beginning with a pilot program in 2000, the VA’s telehealth program has grown tremendously in size, scope, and geographic reach. Last year alone, VA providers delivered more than two million episodes of care using telehealth, from Guam to rural Montana, across remote monitoring, video, and mhealth platforms.

The agency’s widespread, sustainable growth in telehealth should command the attention of providers around the world.
