Rob leads strategic research in support of hospital, health system, and medical group executives through the Health Care Advisory Board program. In this capacity, he dedicates a substantial portion of his time to working directly with members on-site, educating leadership teams and boards about major market developments and the key implications for provider strategy. Rob's principal areas of expertise include hospital-physician integration strategy and emerging accountable care strategy. One of the firm's leading experts on bundled payment programs, Rob serves as the Director of the Medicare Payment Innovation Project, an ongoing initiative to study provider payment reform efforts and support members engaging in innovative payment programs.
Rob graduated from Brown University with a bachelor’s degree in public policy and American institutions.
Prior to joining the Advisory Board in 2006, Rob served as a health insurance analyst in the Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner for the state of Rhode Island, where he studied the impact of state health insurance legislation. Previously, Rob served as a home health care consultant to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health, where he published on the migration of medical devices into the home environment.
