Breaking: 196 cancer practices participating in the Oncology Care Model

by Deirdre Saulet

Today, CMS released the names of the 196 practices and 17 payers that will be participating in the Oncology Care Model (OCM). The five-year model will kick off on July 1, 2016.

Last year, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) announced the creation of the Oncology Care Model (OCM)—a model seeking to improve cancer care quality while lowering associated costs.

Practices interested in participating submitted applications last June and were notified of their acceptance this spring. Now, with the model set to start on July 1, 2016, CMS has released the final list of participating practices and payers. Congratulations to the many Advisory Board members who will be participating!
