Strong collaboration among caregivers—both within and across disciplines—can be considered a cornerstone of high-quality, well-coordinated care. How well care team members communicate and work together to solve problems and make patient care decisions can not only have an impact on patient safety but also patients’ experiences and hospital costs. Yet, many health care teams struggle to collaborate effectively.
This session explores three key strategies to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration:
- Enhancing face-to-face communication
- Bridging barriers created by space and time
- Ensuring the entire care team shares the same patient goals
