As chronic disease prevalence continues to grow, providers are seeking low cost strategies such as telehealth to manage patients with chronic conditions. Although many providers are hesitant to invest in virtual visits for managing chronic conditions because of today’s unfavorable reimbursement landscape, some progressive organizations are building out these offerings. This is both a proactive move in anticipation of positive reimbursement changes and a response to consumers’ growing demand for convenience.
