Radiology-Led Initiatives to Advance Population Health Goals

How can imaging play an active role in a health system’s population health strategy?

This page describes six clinical initiatives that can help imaging programs elevate quality and reduce total costs of care—along with Advisory Board resources that can support imaging leaders in implementing them. In prioritizing these, imaging leaders should consider their health systems' risk portfolio.

The first two initiatives listed below should be top-priority for imaging leaders at all health systems regardless of risk level. The following two become more important as a health system's risk portfolio grows, and the last two deserve serious consideration from imaging leaders at those health systems that already carry a significant risk portfolio.
