Build Efficient Quality Reporting with Streamlined Quality and IT Efforts

Over the past several years, CMS has established a number of hospital clinical quality reporting programs through the annual Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) regulations. Many hospitals and health systems have different teams addressing quality reporting requirements for each program, often resulting in multiple vendors, technical difficulties, and fragmented efforts.

CMS has recently been working to align the requirements and goals of quality reporting programs, and quality and IT leaders should consider following suit. In this brief report, we highlight common operational challenges currently facing many quality reporting teams and offer actionable guidance to help you streamline your organization's quality reporting efforts.
