Levers for Population Health and Member Engagement: Virtual Care at Kaiser Permanente Colorado

Providers seeking opportunities to improve patient engagement have access to tools that enable clinicians and patients to interact remotely with greater convenience. Kaiser Permanente Colorado's virtual care initiative allows patients to obtain certain specialty consults remotely, saving them long trips; and it gives primary care physicians rapid access to remote specialists, potentially sparing patients additional consultations.

We provide an analysis of KPCO's program, and outline three action items providers should consider as they strategize virtual care.
