Wolters Kluwer Acquires Health Language, Inc.

Wolters Kluwer Health, based in Philadelphia, Pa., has announced the acquisition of Denver-based Health Language, Inc. (HLI), one of the leaders in the medical terminology management space. Wolters Kluwer (WK) has long been a leader in clinical content knowledge management at the point of care.

WK plans to incorporate HLI’s capabilities across a number of key areas that include content and interoperability solutions for providers and payers. We provide an overview of the acquisition, the challenges that it may present, and action items that providers should consider as they take steps to standardize their technologies.
