Around the nation: Meet the inaugural class of WMU's School of Medicine

    The inaugural class of Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine graduated on Sunday, in today's bite-sized hospital and health industry news from California, Michigan, and Montana.

    • California: New moms at Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento were treated to live music and gift bags in celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday. Sutter is known as "Sacramento's baby hospital," as it delivers as many as 6,000 babies each year (KCRA, 5/13).

    • Michigan: The inaugural class of Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine graduated on Sunday. Western Michigan University began planning for a new medical school in 2008, and became fully accredited in 2018 (Miller, MLive, 5/13).

    • Montana: Dahl Memorial Healthcare has named Ryan Tooke as CEO, effective July 1. Tooke has previously served as both CEO and CFO at Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth (Vaidya, Becker's Hospital Review, 5/11).
