How to follow the Care Innovation Summit

February 26, 2014

    Dan Diamond, Managing Editor

Whether you're working to make change in health care—or just a wonk with questions about the system's future—Thursday's Care Innovation Summit is shaping up to be a fascinating 10-hour sprint.

The day-long event, co-hosted by the Advisory Board and the Aspen Institute, includes 15 different talks and panels and features more than 60 different thinkers and leaders, capped off by a keynote address from HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. The full agenda's here.

(Forgive me: It's tough to know what to highlight, so I'll share my plans as a window into the day. In addition to the talks in the main room, I'm planning on sitting in Thursday morning's breakout session on innovative employers, featuring Iora Health's Rushika Fernandopulle, Virginia Mason's Sarah Patterson and several other folks; Thursday afternoon, I'm hoping to catch the panel that's discussing new care settings—like the role of pharmacies in delivering care—and moderated by my colleague Dave Willis.)

If you're joining us in D.C. or just following along from your desktop, there's an easy way to stay current: keep an eye on the hashtag #InnovateCare14. Advisory Board staff and attendees will be tweeting throughout the day, and especially during the mid-morning and mid-afternoon breakout sessions. (You don't need Twitter to follow the #InnovateCare14 feed, though it certainly helps.)

Select speeches and panels will also be broadcast online, too. I've listed those out below—accompanied by suggested reading material, if helpful—and you can catch the webcast by visiting http://cis2014.advisory.com.
