- Florida: Northside Hospital has named Valerie Powell-Stafford as CEO, effective April 1. Powell-Stafford previously served as CEO of Englewood Community Hospital and as COO of Doctors Hospital of Sarasota (Vaidya, Becker's Hospital Review, 4/2).
- District of Columbia: Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Ala.) has introduced legislation that would raise the tobacco age of sale requirements from 18 to 21 nationwide. Aderholt said his goal is to keep tobacco products like e-cigarettes out of the hands of minors (Hellmann, The Hill, 4/3).
- Rhode Island: CVS Pharmacy, the retail division of CVS Health, on Thursday announced it is offering consumers across the United States a same-day delivery service for prescription drugs. CVS is partnering with Shipt, a delivery company, to provide the delivery service, which will cost $7.99. CVS first piloted same-day prescription drug deliveries last year in New York (LaVito, CNBC, 4/4).
