- Florida: Indian River Medical Center and Martin Health System have joined the Cleveland Clinic health system. Under the agreements, the Clinic committed to investing $500 million over five years in Martin Health System and $250 million over 10 years in Indian River Medical Center (Ellison, Becker's Hospital Review, 1/3).
- Idaho: The first baby born in 2019 in Boise, Idaho, was born at 4:14 a.m. on New Year's Day to Baylee Swift, a labor and delivery nurse at Saint Alphonsus.
