- California: Toby Cosgrove, former CEO of the Cleveland Clinic, will be joining Google as the executive adviser to Google Cloud's health care and life sciences team. Cosgrove will help the Google Cloud team figure out ways to use technology to improve both patient and provider experience while simultaneously lowering costs (Arndt, Modern Healthcare, 7/23).
- Florida: Orlando Health has broken ground on a $42 million project in Lake Mary. The project will include a new ED and medical pavilion and is expected to open in the fall of 2019. The project is part of a larger medical complex and will be affiliated with South Seminole Hospital (Lynch, Orlando Business Journal, 7/23).
- Missouri: Ascension Medical Group has named Baligh Yehia as CMO. Yehia previously worked as an official at the Department of Veterans Affairs and has also worked as an assistant professor of infectious disease medicine and the senior medical director for community care at the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians (Ross Johnson, Modern Healthcare, 7/20).
