- Minnesota: A new documentary from filmmaker Ken Burns on the Mayo Clinic is set to air on PBS on Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. ET. The film is titled "The Mayo Clinic: Faith—Hope—Science," and will chronicle the life of William Worrall Mayo, who started the Clinic (Knowles, Becker's Hospital Review, 6/19).
- Missouri: Walgreens and Humana announced a partnership on Tuesday to open primary care clinics for Medicare beneficiaries in two Walgreens stores in the Kansas City area. Humana's Partners in Primary Care will run the senior-focused primary care clinics, according to a Walgreens release. Walgreens CEO Stefano Pessina said the partnership will "expand the care for seniors that our pharmacists and other team members have provided for decades" (Haefner, Becker's Hospital Review, 6/19; Japsen, Forbes, 6/19; Walgreens release, 6/19).
- Washington, D.C.: America's Health Insurance Plans' (AHIP) Board of Directors has named David Cordani, CEO of Cigna, board chair of the group, effective January 2019. Cordani will be succeeding Bernard Tyson, chair and CEO of Kaiser Permanente. The AHIP board also selected Ken Burdick, CEO of WellCare Health Plans, as the board's chair-elect for 2019 and board chair for 2020 (Haefner, Becker's Hospital Review, 6/19).
