Around the nation: Intermountain stands with staff who have DACA status

Daily Briefing
    • Louisiana: Ochsner Health System and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana (BCBSL) have joined forces to offer a joint value-based health plan called Blue Connect. Blue Connect will give the insurer's policyholders in-network access to Ochsner physicians, hospitals, and labs. The plan will operate under shared governance, with Ochsner and BCBSL sharing responsibility for the plan's financial performance marketing, clinical care model, and data distribution (Haefner, Becker's Hospital Review, 9/11).

    • Oklahoma: Chris Hammes will serve as interim president of Integris Grove Hospital. Hammes is EVP and COO at Integris Health. Outgoing Integris Hospital CEO Tim Bowen is moving to Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway in Arkansas (Vaidya, Becker's Hospital Review, 9/11).

    • Utah: Intermountain Healthcare's leadership and board of trustees will help 150 of the health system's caregivers who could be affected by the possible repeal of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy. The Trump administration recently said it would rescind the policy, which offers immigrants who entered the United States as minors the opportunity to apply for a work permit and obtain a renewable two-year deferral of deportation action. Intermountain CEO Mark Harrison said the health care system stands behind affected staff "and will fully support them as they seek to extend their DACA permits" (Monegain, Healthcare Finance News, 9/11).
