Scrutiny of hospital quality performance is at an all-time high, with most states now mandating public reporting of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs). Existing and emerging payment models, meanwhile, place growing emphasis on hospital quality and safety metrics; CMS just recently announced a 10-year $70 billion plan to curb HAIs and readmissions by linking quality goals and hospital reimbursement. Seeking to improve patient care and safety, more hospitals and health systems are working with the Advisory Board’s Quality Compass Collaborative to integrate electronic surveillance in organizations’ quality infrastructure.
Join the call to learn more about how health care organizations are:
- Enfranchising physicians in quality reform through sharing of meaningful, actionable quality information;
- Improving antimicrobial stewardship by decreasing reliance on high-cost, high-utilization antibiotics;
- Improving patient safety by ensuring patients receive timely and appropriate antibiotic therapy;
- Minimizing hospital-acquired infections through real time institution-wide electronic surveillance;
- Complying with increasingly complex federal, state, and pay-for-performance requirements; and
- Optimizing reimbursement by identifying coding and documentation problems.
