The creators of a new website, MyClinicalTrialLocator.com, hope to increase this number by connecting patients and physicians with up-to-the-minute information on clinical trials and helping researchers find eligible participants.

Astronomers have long used complex software programs to explore the universe, and now they are joining forces with cancer researchers to apply their sophisticated technology to study breast tumors. Early results show that using astronomical programs adapted to oncology are just as accurate, and much faster, than traditional tumor analysis.

Researchers at the University of Alabama in Birmingham are working to standardize a technique that will make cancer cells glow in the dark. The technique would allow surgeons to locate cancer cells more easily and visually determine whether residual cancer cells remain post-surgery.
