Amid the buzz surrounding hospital-physician alignment strategies, many of our members are searching for partnership models that best fit both their priorities and the needs of prospective physician partners.

Clinical leaders are increasingly focused on two specific models: co-management and professional services agreements (PSAs). According to our recent member survey, 14% of organizations are considering establishing a professional service agreement (PSA) with their oncologists in the next 12 months, and 24% are evaluating developing of a co-management agreement.

Many of these partnership models are still in the nascent stages, but we’ve gleaned some early lessons from those who have undergone the rather time-consuming and complex process of establishing these popular alignment models.
