About the Webconference

New evidence documenting the positive impact of palliative care on cancer patient survival has prompted oncology providers to renew their focus on this critical service. While many hospitals have already invested in inpatient palliative care, most cancer patients still lack access in the outpatient setting or are referred too late to realize the full benefits.

This presentation reviews the challenges associated with palliative care program development, with special focus on promoting timely referrals, and identifies six hallmarks that distinguish best-in-class programs.
