At this year's Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) meeting, one presentation focused on the implementation and use of clinical decision support (CDS) at Brigham and Women's.
Dr. Ramin Khorasani, vice chair of the department of radiology at the hospital and chief of its Center for Evidence-Based Imaging, outlined three key principles to implementing successful CDS with computerized physician order-entry (CPOE):
- Use quality evidence-based guidelines
- Establish accountability for decisions made
- Implement strong leadership
