In recent weeks we've had several conversations with membes about the volume patterns they are seeing in the first quarter of 2010. I would estimate that 8 out of 10 imaging providers we have spoken with are seeing outpatient volumes below expectations in the early going of this year. As you can imagine, the actual decreases vary widely by institution. Some are down 15 percent in CT, others down only 2 percent. However, there are a couple of generalizations I've noticed:
