Patients are coming to expect more from their radiologists, and the market is responding. A new company called MetisMD employs 19 radiologists and seven specialist consultants to offer second opinions and interpretations of medical jargon to imaging patients.

Prices range from $150 for an ultrasound or X-ray read to $2,000 for an annual subscription to a program including reads of multiple exams, plus provider referrals, translation services, and cloud storage.
