We are eager to share the poll results from our recent webconference on preauthorization, "Mastering the Preauthorization Process." Conducted during the presentation itself, the three polls show current preauthorization models practiced by our members, reasons for allowing referring physicians to retain preauthorization responsibility, and the proportion of referring physicians for which our members are obtaining preauthorization.

CMS releases data for six outpatient imaging procedures

As reported in Monday’s Daily Briefing, CMS has released hospital-specific Medicare charge data on 30 outpatient procedures following the release of similar data for the 100 most common inpatient procedures in early May. The release of the data is part of the Obama administration’s efforts to use price transparency to influence utilization and drive down health care costs.
