Health care organizations are struggling to address market and legislative reform efforts. Also looming, but perhaps receiving inadequate attention, is an Oct. 1, 2013 regulatory requirement to convert from ICD-9 codes to ICD-10 codes. While a "minimalist conversion approach" may be enticing, asking five interrelated questions can help care delivery organizations determine how to best address this mandate.
