
Terry is a Senior Director and Faculty member with The Advisory Board Company’s Talent Development division. He teaches workshops and presents research at leading hospitals and health care organizations in the United States, and has provided guidance to over 200 executive teams on curriculum planning, accountability for learning application, and leadership culture.
Terry works with a diverse range of audiences to build leadership capacity and achieve measurable outcomes on critical performance objectives, and specializes in working with executive and physician audiences. He also speaks and teaches at Advisory Board national conferences, such as the Physician Boot Camp and Transformational Leadership.
Terry brings over fifteen years of experience in leader development. His areas of expertise include financial leadership, physician-executive relationships, and case study design and teaching. In addition to teaching, Terry also assists with the design and refinement of The Advisory Board Company’s leadership curriculum.
Prior to joining The Advisory Board Company in 2004, Terry worked with Harvard Business School developing cases and teaching notes for professors to use in leading discussions of ethical issues in business situations. He also worked with Booz Allen Hamilton’s Center for Performance Excellence, Ernst & Young, and New York Life Insurance Company. He has published several Harvard Business School cases as well as a Project Management chapter in The Advice Business, the first textbook to be devoted to management consulting. Terry has qualified as a certified public accountant and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
Terry received his Master of Arts, Philosophy and completed a Graduate Fellowship in Ethics and the Professions at Harvard University. He also holds a Bachelor of Science, Business-Accounting from the University of the State of New York, as well as a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude, Philosophy from Harvard College.
