For Prospective Members: The No Excuses Plan to Accountable Care

Determining the Right Path for Your Organization

Topics: Clinical Integration, Hospital-Physician Alignment, Physician Issues, Accountable Care, Market Trends, Strategy

About the Webconference

With the Supreme Court’s ruling on the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act, many organizations are now focused on the pace and timing of the transition to accountable care, looking to base their next steps on the results and lessons learned from early-adopters.

Many of those early adopters didn't begin with the direct establishment of an ACO, but with the development of a clinical integration organization—a physician-led, performance-focused organization encompassing both employed and independent physicians.

This session focuses on the optimal path to accountable care for your organization, whether through establishing an ACO or a formal clinical integration program with the potential to become an ACO.

Laurie Sprung, PhD, Southwind Executive Vice President, will lead this discussion and will provide a step-by-step guide that begins with assessing your organization's readiness for accountable care.

Laurie will review case study examples from organizations who have undertaken this process with Southwind’s help. For more than three years, Southwind and The Advisory Board Company have been helping organizations begin the transition to accountable care and greatly improve physician-hospital alignment by establishing formal clinical integration programs.
