Community Impact

Community Impact is The Advisory Board Company’s corporate social responsibility program. Our employees’ commitment to quality health care and education goes beyond their day jobs.

We use our skills and passions to transform the communities in which we live and work—through firmwide events, hands-on activities, pro bono projects, and board service.

See how we make an impact.

We use our unique knowledge in health care and higher education to support high-performing nonprofits in the following areas. Learn how.

Community health centers

Our offices work with free clinics around the country, using our health care skills to help increase patient access and enhance care.

Holistic health outcomes

Primary health care is important but not the only factor in health outcomes. We partner with nonprofits looking to treat root causes and the whole person.

Educational outcomes

Focusing on school partnerships and innovative nonprofits, we work to close the achievement gap and improve results for students.

At-risk and under-resourced youth

We want to make sure every child has a fair chance. We help community-based nonprofits improve their scale and effectiveness in supporting at-risk youth.

From 2011 to 2012, our employees doubled the number of hours they served in our communities—to nearly 20,000—and quadrupled the number of high-impact, skills-based service projects they implemented.

Santhosh, an engineer in India, began by organizing his coworkers to give money to a local orphanage. But when they met the children, they were inspired to take an active role in improving their health and education.

Aimee has worked on four pro bono projects for a Washington, D.C., community health center, driving over $100K in benefit, developing professionally, and growing closer to her team.

John won a scholarship to attend college in the U.S., and his work with African Leadership Bridge helps more students from Kenya have the same opportunities.
